The scholarship application portal is provided by The Destiny Trust Children Foundation (“The Destiny Trust”), an entity registered under the Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

At The Destiny Trust (‘We’, ‘Us’ or ‘Our’), we understand how important the privacy of personal information is to our users and we are committed to protecting the privacy of the users of our website and mobile applications, and the confidentiality of any personal information provided to us.

The Destiny Trust Privacy Policy will help users and their parents understand what data we collect about you, why we collect it, what we do with it, and our privacy controls. This Policy provides information about The Destiny Trust’s privacy practices and generally describes how we treat user information.

This Privacy Policy applies to www.destinytrust/org/ofilischolarship and other websites owned and operated by us for scholarship application processes that are intended for use and including the mobile optimized versions of these sites.

a. Profile data, such as your Full name, e-mail address, mailing address, location, age, and phone number;

b. Technical information, such as the type of mobile device and internet browser you use, your computer IP address, data about the pages you access, mobile device ID or unique identifier, statistics on page views, standard Web log data, still and moving images, etc;

c. Marketing data, such as users’ feedback;

d. Usage data, such as time spent on our application, when application was opened, device data and learning statistics (time spent learning, lessons viewed, test scores, etc.).

f. log information, including details of how our service is used, device event information, and the device's Internet protocol (IP) address;

g. unique application numbers, such as application version number; and

i. User’s online activity and digital footprint on the Application including videos, search terms, and other interactions with content on the app.

a. to register you as a new user.

b. to manage your relationship with us;

c. to facilitate communication between users;

d. to provide personalized support

e. to make the Platform easier for you to use by not having to enter information more than once;

f. to manage risk, or to detect, prevent, and/or remediate fraud or other potentially prohibited or illegal activities; and

g. to send periodic emails and marketing materials regarding your interest in Our products and services.


We use the information we collect for internal operational purposes such as spam and abuse prevention and enforcing our content license restrictions and providing and improving the service.


The website does not allow any type of interest-based advertising or remarketing.


If you are a Parent/Guardian of a person under the age of 18 years, The Destiny Trust does not allow your child to share personal information with third parties or make it publicly available.

o. To protect Your vital interest or of another person

- Legitimate Interest: We may disclose Your information to a Third Party for purposes of legitimate interests, which may include:

o. To conduct research and analysis for the purpose of improving our services to you and other people who use our platform.

Parental Access and Controls

If you sign into The Destiny Trust, the platform will collect your account information, such as email address and password, and, as applicable, will collect profile information for any profiles you create for your child as well as your parental controls and customization preferences.

Your profile information will include your child’s name, their age, and their month of birth if you choose to provide it. The Platform also collects the child’s Platform activity data including watch and search history specific to each child.

We will use this information to provide the following features:

a. Enable you create profiles for your child; and

b. Enable additional parental controls and customization preferences associated with each of the profiles in the Platform on all your devices.


Third Party Links

Occasionally, we may include or offer third party products or services on our Platform. As such, our Platform may contain links to mobile applications owned and operated by third parties. These third-party mobile applications may have their own separate and independent privacy policies, which may govern the collection and processing of your personal data. We urge you to review these privacy policies – because this Policy will not apply. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content, activities and privacy practices of such third-party mobile applications.



Cookies

Our Platforms use cookies (small files containing a string of characters), which we place on your computer, if you agree. These cookies allow us to uniquely identify your browser and to distinguish you from other users of our Platforms. This enables us to track your preferences and provide you with a personalized and smooth experience when you browse our Platforms. The cookies we use are “analytical” cookies. Every registered user has a unique personal profile. Each profile is assigned a unique personal identification number, which helps us ensure that only you can access your profile. When you register, we create your profile, assign a personal identification number, (your User ID) then send this personal identification number back your email address with an activation link for the activation of your profile. This code is uniquely yours. It is your passport to seamless travel across our Platforms, allowing you to use our Platforms without having to fill out registration forms with information you’ve already provided. Even if you switch computers, you won’t have to re-register – just use your User ID to identify yourself.



Retention of Personal Information

We will keep your personal information for as long as it is required and in accordance with the purpose it is being processed for, or for tax, accounting, regulatory, or legal purposes. We will keep the personal data for a period which enables us to handle or respond to any complaints, queries or concerns relating to Our relationship with you. Related to this, We may retain your personal data for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if We reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect to Our relationship with you.

You may notify us whenever you no longer wish to hear from us and We will keep minimum information upon receipt of such Policy to ensure that no future contact is made by us. We will actively review the personal information We hold and delete it securely, or in some cases anonymize it, when there is no longer a legal, business or user need for it to be retained.

You have the right to:

a. request access to your personal data (commonly known as a “data subject access request”). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal information We hold about you and check that we are lawfully processing it. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to employees, agents and contractors on a need to know basis. These employees, agents, and contractors have a duty to maintain confidentiality at all times and will only process your personal data according to Our instructions.
