Can I apply for a Ofili Scholarship if I have not been admitted into the university?

Generally, only applicants who have been admitted into the university or are current undergraduates are eligible to apply. However, Applicants who have met the requirements for admission in an on-going or forthcoming admission process of their university of choice may be considered by the Selection Panel given evidence of high grades in UTME and WAEC/NECO which show good prospect of admission. However, the award of scholarship or disbursement will not be made until offer of admission and resumption to the university.

What if I have been admitted but my school has not resumed?

Your award of scholarship remains valid but there will be no disbursement of funds until resumption.
Is Ofili Scholarship open to students at all levels?

Yes. The Ofili Scholarship is open to university students studying a STEM course across all levels.
Is there an age limit for applicants?

Yes, only students 16-25 years are eligible to apply.
What costs are covered by the Ofili scholarship?

The Ofili Scholarship covers tuition, Faculty/Department Fees, university-managed Hall/Hostel Accommodation and books.

Does Ofili sponsorship cover admission acceptance fee?

No, The Ofili scholarship does not cover the acceptance fee in any university.

The Ofili Scholarship disburses fees when the school portal is open for fees payment.

What do I need to show as evidence of community service?
Materials such as photographs or certificates of participation in leadership and community service activities are relevant. You can also provide a reference from a registered non-profit organisation in Nigeria. However, Applicants who procure references without verifiable evidence of participation in the programmes of the organisation will be disqualified if discovered.
Can I apply for an Ofili Scholarship if I am not a core science student?

The Ofili Scholarship is strictly for students in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. This specifically includes Basic Medical Sciences (Medicine and Surgery)
How and when should I expect to receive an update after submitting my application?

Shortlisted candidates will be contact via email provided in the application form. The successful candidates will be notified by email not later than the last week of September.

What if I have already paid my fees for the current academic session and my next fees will be due before the next Ofili Scholarship round?

You are eligible to apply. If you receive an award of scholarship, disbursement will be deferred till your next fees are due for payment at the commencement of another academic session.
